note
Peng will now bounce any post from an email address that is not strictly subscribed to either "peng" or "peng-digest".
This means if you're subscribed as tom@tomorrow.org but you're
posting from tom@past.com your post will not be sent
to the list, but will be forwarded to the list administrator,
who will then have to forward it to the list.

- Directions on how to unsubscribe should be provided at the footer
of every message sent to the list. If you ever forget, look at
the bottom of any message. Do *not* send unsubscribe requests
to the list itself. If you have problems unsubscribing, send e-mail
to owner-peng@kuci.org
[For newbies:]
- If you ever doubt that people on the list will be interested in what
you have to say, don't say it. Upon first joining, it's a good idea
to get a feel on how the folks on the list interact, so you get
an idea what folks are interested in talking about. If you have any
doubts, e-mail owner-peng@kuci.org
...In reality, any attempt to keep your messages related to the list
focus is just fine.
- I will quench flame wars as fast as I can. But only you can prevent
flame wars.
- Broadcasting someone's personal e-mail to you on the list is a definite
violation of privacy and trust. Ask that person if it's OK first.
Continuing such a practice may qualify you for the below grounds...
HOW TO BE IMMEDIATELY KICKED OFF THIS LIST AND BE BANNED FROM ANY LIST ON
THIS SITE FOREVER (AND POSSIBLY HAVE YOUR ACCOUNT YANKED):
- Spamming aka sending large pieces of e-mail to the list which are
completely unrelated and/or self-serving. The more irrelevant and
self-serving they are, the quicker you'll be kicked off. If list
operations are seriously hindered as a result, your ISP admin
may very well get a phone call.
- Sending any attachments or BinHexes of sound files, pic files,
movie files, or anything that is not text to the list. Keep that
stuff on a web or FTP site, thank you very much. Again, if list
operations are hindered as a result, your ISP admin will definitely
get a phone call.
- Generating an abnormal amount of traffic on the list without heeding
when continually asked to do so.
Otherwise, have fun! :)
Your loving listmaster.... Brian MacDonald
